TERMS & CONDITIONS
GENERAL TERMS & CONDITIONS — “CROWN INDUSTRY LEADERS”
§1. Preliminary Provisions
These General Terms and Conditions apply to all award programs conducted by the Organiser under the unified name “Crown Industry Leaders.”
The Organiser of the program is the company (details such as registered business name, ABN, and address will be inserted later).
The Crown Awards are held annually and divided into separate industry categories.
In accordance with fair business practices, the Organiser aims to identify and recognise businesses that demonstrate the highest standards of professionalism and customer satisfaction in their respective industries.
§2. Eligibility and Participation
Any business legally registered and operating within Australia, regardless of its legal structure (sole trader, company, partnership, or trust), may be included in the program if it operates within an eligible industry category.
Participation in the program is entirely free of charge.
The Organiser makes every effort to create a comprehensive list of active businesses within each industry. The fact that a business has not been included due to lack of public listing or online presence does not constitute grounds for compensation or complaint.
Any business may contact the Organiser at any time to verify whether it has been included in the ranking. Enquiries can be submitted through the official contact channels provided on the Crown website. Each verified business will receive its rating score and, if applicable, an explanation of why it did not receive an award.
Businesses not initially included in the program may apply for verification by submitting the online application form available on the Crown website.
§3. Evaluation Methodology
The Organiser uses automated systems to match online business profiles with corresponding entities across review platforms.
All data is manually verified by qualified staff to ensure accuracy.
For each business, the Organiser collects the average rating and number of customer reviews from every matched platform.
The data used must originate from online sources built according to modern web standards, including structured data (microdata) technology.
When publishing the list of Laureates, the Organiser provides full transparency — each listing includes the sources used, the number of reviews, and the average ratings for every business.
Businesses that did not qualify as Laureates may request a written explanation of the result.
The rating calculation method and formula are publicly available on the How It Works page of each industry’s section.
Sources used in the final rating calculation are displayed on the Crown website and accessible for each Laureate via their public profile page.
§4. Award Criteria
To qualify as a Laureate, a business must achieve a final score of at least 8 out of 10 points.
Awards are granted based on geographic and industry segmentation across Australia.
Businesses are assigned to a specific area based on their registered postcode.
If an area contains fewer than eight eligible businesses, those entities are assessed within a broader regional or district-level ranking.
In each area or region, first, second, and third place are additionally awarded.
Ranking order is determined as follows:
a) The business with the highest final score (rounded to one decimal point) ranks first.
b) If two or more businesses have the same final score, the one with the greater number of reviews is ranked higher.
c) If both the final score and the number of reviews are identical, the same position is shared (ex aequo).
A newly verified business that meets all award criteria may be added to the list of Laureates at any time. The date of verification will be displayed on its profile page. However, podium positions (1–3) remain unchanged once published.
Businesses that failed verification due to a low score cannot be re-evaluated in the same year. They may participate again in the following year’s edition.
§5. Rights of Laureates
Information about Laureates is published on the official Crown website.
Each Laureate has the right to update their business details by contacting the Organiser through the contact form.
Laureates may request the removal of their data from the Crown website at any time.
Each Laureate may optionally order an official Promotional Package corresponding to the current edition of the program.
Packages may include a premium plaque or certificate, a printed diploma, a congratulatory letter, and a digital logo file for online use.
Packages are optional and subject to a separate fee. Prices depend on the edition and industry category.
Ordering promotional materials is not mandatory and does not affect the Laureate’s ranking or status.
Laureates agree not to share or reproduce materials for third-party use; all materials are intended exclusively for their own business promotion.
Laureates who purchase the promotional package gain the perpetual right to use the official Crown Industry Leaders logo in their marketing materials.
§6. Privacy and Data Protection
The Organiser is the data controller for personal and business information collected through the Crown website.
Personal data is collected only when a business places an order for promotional materials or submits a verification request.
All data is processed in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs) for the purpose of program administration and delivery of materials.
Data may be shared with courier and logistics providers to complete shipments.
Data will not be transferred outside Australia without explicit consent.
To compile the rankings, the Organiser uses publicly available trade names as displayed on platforms such as Google Maps, Facebook, or other verified sources chosen by the business.
§7. Final Provisions
These Terms & Conditions take effect upon publication on the Crown website.
Interpretation of these Terms rests solely with the Organiser.
Enquiries and complaints regarding the program should be directed to the Organiser.
Any matters not covered herein shall be governed by applicable Australian law.
This document is for informational purposes only and does not create any contractual or financial obligations.
Any disputes arising from the implementation of these Terms, which cannot be resolved amicably, shall be submitted to the competent court in the jurisdiction of the Organiser’s registered office.
If any provision of these Terms is deemed invalid, the remaining provisions shall remain fully enforceable.
Any amendments to these Terms & Conditions may be made by the Organiser’s authorised management resolution.
